Nicki Minaj Speaks On Her Upcoming Pink Friday Album

September 2nd, 2010 | By admin

By Jason Smith

Nicki Minaj has shared her thoughts on if her debut performs poorly when released this fall.

The Young Money believes she has to put her all into the project and make sure it is a success.

“[Young Money] won’t look to sign other female rappers if the project doesn’t do well, because they’re going to say, ‘Well, her buzz was so crazy, and if she couldn’t do it, then no one can do it,’ and I don’t want that to happen. So I’m doing this as well for all the girls…I hope it will open doors for all girls everywhere who ever wanted to pick up a mic and rap and who have been kind of afraid to do it.

Minaj mentioned that she was convinced that being a female rapper would be very difficult.

For a long time in my life, I was afraid to be a solo female rapper, because everyone told me, ‘It doesn’t work. It’s not going to happen. Record companies are never going to invest in you just to get it. Just be part of a group.’ … Even as far as I’ve come now is already a testament in my mind, so I hope the female rappers understand how big it is for our culture that the album does well.”

Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday is slated to hit stores Tuesday, November 23rd.

Young Buck Talks About His Bankruptcy And G-Unit Lawsuit

September 1st, 2010 | By admin

By Jason Smith

Young Buck has recently spoke on his bankruptcy case and his alleged lawsuit against G-Unit boss 50 Cent.

The rapper said he had to file for bankruptcy for a new financial start.

“I was forced to file bankruptcy, not because I am broke. But because I have to get my finances back in order and deal with the contract situations I was in. Now I have a clean slate and full control over my own life and career.”

Young Buck also shot down reports that he would be filing a lawsuit against 50 Cent, G-Unit and former manager Sha Money XL.

“Where did that rumor come from?! I have not filed suit against anyone, although, maybe that’s not a bad idea.

His bankruptcy details hit the Internet yesterday.

Young Buck, filed for protection under Chapter 13 of the bankruptcy code earlier this month. The filing came soon after IRS personnel carried out an early-morning raid on Brown’s lakeside home in Hendersonville, seizing much of his personal property. The bankruptcy petition came to light Monday after Nashville’s U.S. District Court lifted the seal it had placed on court filings related to the August 3 seizure. The Chapter 13 process, designed to allow individuals to restructure their debts, automatically halts efforts by any creditor — even the IRS — to collect on debts owed by the person who files. Creditors can ask the bankruptcy court to lift the stay against them on certain grounds, allowing them to move against the debtor. The tax authority claims Brown owes it about $305,000 for taxes due between 2006 and 2008, including penalties, interest and collection costs.

“Takers” Movie Lands At No. 2 On The Box Office Charts

August 30th, 2010 | By admin

By Jason Smith

This past weekend, the movie Takers made over $21 million but was edged out for the number one spot, The Last Exorcism.

Movie theaters were quiet over the weekend, with ticket sales for the Top 12 films down 11 percent compared with the same period last year. A PG-13 rating and a wide release helped push the horror movie “The Last Exorcism” (Lionsgate) to No. 1 with about $21.3 million in grosses, according to Hollywood.com, which compiles sales data. (Right, Ashley Bell, on bed and Caleb Landry Jones.) “Takers,” a moderately budgeted crime thriller from Sony Pictures Entertainment, was a close second with $21 million. (New York Times)

The film reportedly performed well in Eastern markets but lacked in the Western part of the country.

When box office returns started coming in Friday afternoon, the heist film “Takers” looked like the clear winner. But as the sun faded on the West Coast, the horror movie “The Last Exorcism” leaped into the lead, ultimately grossing $9.5 million for the day, compared with $7.5 million for “Takers.” The reason? “Takers,” with stars including Chris Brown, T.I. and Zoe Saldana, generated disproportionately high interest among African Americans and had strong performances in East Coast cities such as Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., with large black populations. (Los Angeles Times)

In the movie, rapper T.I. played the role of a villain.

T.I. is treacherous. He’s cold, he’s calculating and he’s out for millions. As the character Ghost in the upcoming film “Takers,” the beloved King of the South is all of the above, but he also sneaks in a few hysterical one-liners. It’s these multifaceted aspects that lured him to his role in the film.

Didn’t see it yet but I heard it’s ok! We post all the latest Hip Hop And R&B tracks, so if you want to download them click continue.
