Veteran producer Dr. Dre will be featured in a $40 Million Ad Campaign by Hewlett-Packard which will launch this weekend.

Besides the Hip Hop star, “Let’s Be Amazing” campaign will feature comedian Rhys Darby and others. HP will attempt to give the company more “personality and distinction” and to be innovative for their consumer base.

When commenting on his new notebook PC Dre said, “The laptop is the new stereo for a lot of people and that’s why we’re putting out this computer with incredible sound.”

Death Row Records In Money Trouble Already?

“If someone would pay the amount of the debt incurred plus a dollar, we’re out. This is just another commercial loan transaction that started as a workout and continues to be a workout. Please – step up to the table and take us out,” says Robert Thompson-So of New Solutions Capital Group.

Thompson-So financed the deal for WIDEawake Entertainment to buy Death Row Records for $18 million but has yet to be paid back any money. The Capital Group head says Death Row actually incurred more debt, bringing their tab to an estimated $25 million since the purchase.

According to sources, Thompson-So says he’s willing to take over the label if need be, a measure he doesn’t want to take.

Death Row also face other hurdles, legendary rapper/producer Dre Dre filed a lawsuit against the company last month, for releasing The Chronic album without his permission.

In my opinion it was a bad buy. Death Row Records was in turmoil at the time of the purchase I highly doubt that company can be revived.
